Retro ETQW Demo II

This server requires you having Demo 2.0 for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars installed in the system, you can grab it either:

1. Steam using the command app_license_request 10050 on Steam Console.
2. From Splash Damage Site (The main devs of the game): ETQW Splash Damage

• The method to connect to the server

The workaround is opening the in-game console in order to connect, the shortcut for it is "Control+Alt+Tilt" and typing the command connect etqw.retrospection.xn--q9jyb4c. Once connected, there's no need to access the console again in order to connect, because the IP never changes it should show up under "Play on LAN" and in History after changing the "Source" top-menu.

• Why am I seeing this server offline?

Probably because our full server is online or It's in maintenance or it just crashed, but don't worry we don't let the server stay offline for too long and in any case you can always check the reason why the server is offline with our Retro TeamSpeak 3 Community. We share the same resources for the full server release, because after all this is just a demo, so there's no need to use additional resources for a demo right?

• Brief Description about this server:

This is the second demo for ETQW after the betas and uses version 1.4. Although this is the closest experience you are going to get from the demo, in comparison to 1.5 (Latest version), we still recommend giving a try in earlier versions of the game 1.0 or 1.1. We're the only community looking for an authentic experience with no stupid rules for earlier versions of the game. Earlier versions might contain some bugs, but at same time it's pretty similar to Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, so we would still recommend to give version 1.0 and 1.1 the same love as for the folks that only play the latest version of the game.

We love this game! So in our minds, earlier versions also needs the same treatment and respect as the latest and that's why we decided to go back in time and explore the possibilities for version 1.1 for the full release of the server, you might be surprised in the changing pace of how to play the game, but talking about the full release...

• About the Full Server (Not this one)

To access the Full version of the server you need to join our Retro TeamSpeak 3 since it's the only way to access the Full capability of the server. We use version 1.1 for the full release of ETQW and of course in our TeamSpeak 3 server you can download the patch for it. Not only that, but you will receive a "Badge" in our TeamSpeak 3 server, showing to everyone you play in our server as well, and then you will be able to access the patches and all the good stuff to connect into it.

• Why Demo 2.0 instead of first Demo that uses version 1.1 as a base?

Reason for that is simple. Unfortunate with the Master Servers closure (thanks to Activision), back in 2021, we lost server authentication. It means every license, private chats and even server announcement in the Master Server is gone, because of that there's no "Persistent Stats" (Achievements) anymore in-game and tracking sites like GS4U for example, can't even detect the server existence in older builds. The ideal thing to do and also for you to know the existence of our community was to be using Demo 2.0 which allows full capability of sites like GS4U to track our servers and show we have at least one server for the game's demo, which would call for people's attention.

We were think about using 1.5 Full version, but unfortunate because majority of people plays that particular version only, almost everyday, It's a bit saturated already and there's nothing new going on besides some new maps or some mods. Well in comparison we found out earlier versions of game had much better MOD compatibility in comparison to 1.5, so really we didn't want to open a 1.5 server just to say we actually use 1.1 as our main server, it could be misleading and extremely confusing. We having a Demo server was our best choice.
