To join a BeamMP server in BeamNG.drive, start the game through the BeamMP Launcher, then find a server in the Multiplayer menu or enter its address in Direct Connect. This Windows guide takes you from choosing a server on GS4u to joining the game.

1. Find a server and its address on GS4u

Browse the BeamMP server list and click a server name to open its details. Check its status, player count and map. For your first connection, choose an online server with free slots.

Note the server name and copy the IP:Port value using the copy button next to it. The GS4u page URL is different from the game server address: Direct Connect needs the address shown in the IP:Port field.

2. Start BeamMP

You'll need an up-to-date, legitimate copy of BeamNG.drive and the BeamMP client. If you haven't installed the client yet, download it from the official BeamMP website and run the installer.

  1. Open the BeamMP Launcher. This opens the BeamNG.drive launcher; start the game from there. Leave the BeamMP window open.
  2. In the main menu, open Repository and make sure multiplayerbeammp is the only enabled mod. You can temporarily disable your other mods.
  3. Return to the main menu and select More… → Multiplayer.
  4. Join as a guest or sign in to your BeamMP account. To play as a guest, you'll need a server that allows guest access.

The menu labels above are from the English interface. For Linux installation instructions, see the official BeamMP guide.

3. Join by address or server name

By address: Direct Connect

  1. In the Multiplayer menu, open the Direct Connect tab.
  2. Paste the part of the address before the colon into the IP field, and enter the number after the colon in the Port field.
  3. Click Connect and wait for the game to load.

For example, 192.0.2.10:30814 means IP address 192.0.2.10 and port 30814. This is an example of the format, not a working server. Use both values from the server's GS4u page; your server may use a different port.

By name: the in-game server list

Find the server in the Multiplayer list using the name shown on GS4u, select it and click Connect. If it doesn't appear, reset the list filters and set the map to Any. If you have the address, you can also use Direct Connect.

If you can't connect

  • The Multiplayer button is missing. Check that you started the game through the BeamMP Launcher and that the multiplayerbeammp mod is enabled. Then try Ctrl + L, as recommended by the developers.
  • The server isn't responding. Check the address and port against its GS4u page, check its status and try another server. If the problem only affects one server, send its admins the exact error message.
  • Mods are downloading. Standard server mods download when you connect. If a server uses a protected mod, the launcher will tell you which file is missing. Get the mod from its author, then follow the instructions in the BeamMP notification to put the file in the correct folder. A long download doesn't necessarily mean it has stalled.
  • Guest access is blocked. Sign in to your BeamMP account. If you don't have an account or can't sign in, choose a server that allows guests.

If the problem continues, save the error message from the BeamMP Launcher window. For more information on connecting and server mods, see the BeamMP documentation.
